Makuta is the only micro molding company in the world certified to manufacture products made with DuPont TM Vespel ® materials. Vespel grade materials have a melting point of 420°C. This material is designed to provide products for applications where conditions are too severe for other polymers to perform. Vespel material “satisfies the most stringent requirements for weight reduction, long service life, chemical exposure, extreme temperatures, or custom made quality micro molded components.” Parts micro molded with Vespel material have proven to be a cost-effective solution in a wide array of applications, including Aerospace, Industrial, Office Machines, Pumps, Semiconductor, and Transportation. High temperature micro molded components can replace steel components in a variety of applications.
Custom research and development molds have been fabricated for the Vespel product line. These molds allow very fast prototype part turn around, in some cases less than 3 days. Vespel product and mold design has been developed in conjunction with the DuPont Vespel products division.
